Alain Gueneau produces wines from Sancerre, the Upper Loire's limestone-rich terroir. The winery focuses on two of the region's signature varieties: Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc. Terres de Fossiles Sancerre Rouge, made from Pinot Noir, expresses the mineral character that defines the appellation's red wines. The Sancerre Rosé, also Pinot Noir-based, captures the pale, dry profile characteristic of Loire rosés. Les Griottes Sancerre, a Sauvignon Blanc, reflects the crisp, herbaceous identity for which Sancerre whites are recognized. The wines have been assessed by Wine Enthusiast, Wine Spectator, Wine Advocate, and Decanter.
