Alves de Sousa

Alves de Sousa produces wines from the Douro region of Northern Portugal, where steep terraced vineyards and schist soils shape the character of indigenous varieties. The winery draws on Douro's traditional grapes—Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca, and others—to craft both table wines and fortified Ports. Memórias, a blend of Tinta Roriz, Tinta Amarela, and Touriga Nacional, stands as the winery's flagship expression. The Quinta da Gaivosa Amphitheatrum Vintage Porto, a complex blend of five varieties including Touriga Nacional and Tinta Barroca, represents the fortified tradition. Abandonado rounds the portfolio with Touriga Franca, Tinta Amarela, Souzao, and Touriga Nacional. These wines have been assessed by Wine Advocate, Wine Enthusiast, Wine Spectator, Decanter, and Falstaff.
