Animaetnea
Animaetnea produces wines from Etna, the volcanic region of southeastern Sicily where mineral-rich soils and altitude shape distinctive expressions of indigenous varieties. The winery works with Carricante, the white grape native to Etna's higher elevations, and Nerello Mascalese, the region's signature red. Animalucente Bianco, a Carricante wine, demonstrates the variety's characteristic tension and salinity. Animardente, built from Nerello Mascalese, reflects the grape's elegant structure and red-fruit character. Both wines have been assessed by Decanter. The volcanic terroir of Etna—with its ash-enriched soils and cool microclimates—produces wines of precision and minerality, and Animaetnea's selections exemplify this regional identity.
