Battaglio

Battaglio produces Nebbiolo-based wines from Langhe in Piemonte's heart. The winery's Barbaresco and Barolo—both expressions of the region's most prestigious grape—have drawn assessment from Wine Enthusiast, Wine Advocate, Decanter, and Wine Spectator. Alongside these classical offerings sits a Barbera d'Alba Superiore, the darker-skinned alternative that defines much of the region's everyday character. Langhe's continental climate, with its cool nights and limestone-rich soils, shapes wines of structure and aging potential. Nebbiolo in particular demands patience; these are wines built for the cellar, marked by tannin and acidity that evolve over years. Battaglio's portfolio reflects the traditional hierarchy of Piemontese viticulture, where Barolo and Barbaresco command the highest regard, and Barbera offers a more immediate, fruit-forward counterpoint.
