Bayle-Carreau

Bayle-Carreau operates across the right-bank appellations of Blaye and Bourg, in the Côtes de Bordeaux. The winery produces Bordeaux blends anchored in Cabernet Franc and Merlot, with Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec in the mix. Château Landreau, a Côtes de Bourg blend of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon, stands as the winery's highest-rated expression. Château la Carelle, from the Blaye appellation, marries Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Malbec into a structured whole. Château Eyquem, another Côtes de Bourg offering, rounds out the portfolio with its own Cabernet Franc–Merlot base. Wine Enthusiast has assessed the range. These are wines of the limestone and clay soils characteristic of the right bank, where Merlot ripens generously and Cabernet Franc brings aromatic definition and grip.
