Bergerie du Capucin
Bergerie du Capucin produces wines from Languedoc, the sprawling southern French region known for ripe fruit and Mediterranean warmth. The winery's whites draw on the aromatic potential of Roussanne, Chardonnay, and Viognier—grapes that thrive in the region's sun-soaked vineyards. Dame Jeanne Blanc marries these varieties into a textured white. The reds lean on Grenache, Mourvèdre, and Syrah, the classic Languedoc trio that yields wines with dark fruit, spice, and structure. Larmanela combines Grenache and Syrah into a focused expression of the terroir, while Dame Jeanne Rouge brings all three varieties together. Decanter, Wine Spectator, and Wine Advocate have rated the winery's output, with both the white and red Dame Jeanne bottlings and Larmanela earning scores in the 90–91 range. The winery works within a region defined by value and accessibility, where quality has steadily risen over recent decades.
