Caven

Caven produces Nebbiolo-based wines from Lombardia in northern Italy, drawing from the alpine terroirs of Valtellina. The winery's portfolio centers on the region's signature expressions: Messere Sforzato di Valtellina, a concentrated Nebbiolo that has earned recognition from Wine Spectator and Wine Enthusiast; Cerasum Nebbiolo Rosé, a rosé variant of the same noble grape; and Al Carmine Valtellina Superiore Inferno Riserva, a reserve-level Nebbiolo from one of Valtellina's most prestigious subzones. Nebbiolo in this alpine setting develops the variety's characteristic structure and complexity—tannins and acidity that age gracefully—while the cool climate and mountain slopes impart mineral precision. Caven's focus on single-varietal Nebbiolo and its reserve expressions reflects the serious winemaking tradition of Valtellina, where this grape has flourished for centuries.
