Château de Goëlane
Château de Goëlane produces wines from Bordeaux Supérieur, the appellation that sits just above generic Bordeaux in the region's hierarchy. The estate's flagship, Choeur de l'Aube, blends Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc—a five-variety composition that reflects the complexity possible in this terroir. A second offering, labeled simply Bordeaux Supérieur, pairs Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, and Merlot. Both wines have been assessed by Wine Enthusiast and Wine Spectator. Bordeaux Supérieur as a region is defined by stricter ripeness requirements and lower yields than its parent appellation, resulting in wines with deeper color and fuller body. The blend-driven style here—anchored by Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon with supporting structure from Malbec and Petit Verdot—is characteristic of the Right Bank's approach to Bordeaux winemaking.
