Château des Karantes sits in La Clape, a limestone-threaded corner of Languedoc where Mediterranean heat and coastal winds shape the vines. The estate works with the grapes native to the region—Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre—and the white varieties that thrive in its mineral soils: Terret Blanc and Grenache Blanc. La Clape Diamant, a pure Syrah, shows the dark-fruit intensity and structure the appellation is known for.
