Dagernova
Dagernova produces Pinot Noir from Germany's Ahr region, a cool-climate valley along the Rhine known for elegant red wines. The winery's portfolio centers on Spätburgunder—the German name for Pinot Noir—which thrives in the region's slate soils and moderate temperatures. The Cuvée Noir Trocken, a dry blend, anchors the range at 90 points from Falstaff. The Edition FS Trocken and Ahrweiler Rosenthal Spätburgunder, both pure expressions of the variety, each earned 89 points. These wines reflect the Ahr's character: structured, mineral-driven reds with the precision and restraint typical of northern German viticulture. Spätburgunder from this region tends toward bright acidity and silky tannins rather than extraction, favoring finesse over weight.
