Domaine Calot

Domaine Calot works in Morgon, the most structured of Beaujolais's cru villages, where granite and schist soils yield Gamay wines of depth and mineral precision. The estate's portfolio centers on three expressions of this terroir: the Cuvée Vieilles Vignes Morgon, drawn from older vines and rated 89.5 by prestige critics; the Tête de Cuvée Morgon at 89.0; and the Cuvée Tradition Morgon at 88.0. Each reflects Morgon's signature character—darker fruit, earthiness, and the structure that distinguishes it from lighter Beaujolais crus. Decanter, Wine Advocate, and Wine Spectator have assessed the winery's output. These are Gamay wines built for contemplation rather than immediate consumption, with the aging potential that Morgon's geology affords.
