Domaine des Souchons

Domaine des Souchons works the granite slopes of Morgon, the most structured of Beaujolais's ten crus. The vineyard's expression centers on Gamay—the region's signature variety—grown on terrain that imparts mineral tension and dark fruit depth. The flagship Morgon 'Côte de Py' captures the appellation's characteristic power: dense, age-worthy, marked by the volcanic soils that define this corner of the region. Cuvée Claude Pillet Morgon and Vieilles Vignes Morgon round out the portfolio, each drawing complexity from mature vines and the same terroir. Wine Advocate, Wine Enthusiast, Decanter, and Wine Spectator have all assessed the domaine's output. The wines reflect Morgon's reputation for Gamay that demands food and time—a departure from the lighter, fruit-forward Beaujolais stereotype.
