Domaine Karydas
Domaine Karydas produces wine in Naoussa, the heart of Imathia in Macedonia's northern reaches. The region is the ancestral home of Xinomavro, a grape of considerable structure and aging potential—dark-fruited, high in tannin and acidity, capable of developing complexity over years in bottle. The winery's Naoussa Dry Red, made entirely from Xinomavro, has drawn assessment from Wine Spectator, Wine Advocate, and Wine Enthusiast. A second expression, labeled simply Xinomavro, rounds out the portfolio. Both wines reflect the terroir of Naoussa: a continental climate moderated by altitude, limestone-rich soils, and the particular character of a varietal that demands patience and food. The wines show the mineral precision and structural rigor for which the appellation is recognized among serious collectors of Greek wine.
