Gaec François & Fils
Gaec François & Fils works the steep terraced vineyards of Côte-Rôtie, the Northern Rhône's most prestigious appellation. The winery produces Syrah-based wines from this demanding granite-and-schist terrain, where the grape achieves distinctive minerality and structure. Les Rochins and Rozier represent the winery's core offerings, both pure Syrah expressions that have earned recognition from Decanter and Wine Enthusiast. The flagship Côte-Rôtie blends Syrah with a small proportion of Viognier, the white grape traditionally co-fermented here to add aromatic complexity and soften tannins. These wines embody the region's character: dark fruit intensity tempered by the cool climate's acidity and the slope's mineral precision.
