Guy Bernard

Guy Bernard produces wines from Côte-Rôtie, the steep-terraced appellation at the northern edge of the Rhône Valley. The house focuses on Syrah, the region's defining grape, which here develops dark fruit intensity and mineral structure shaped by the granite and schist soils. The Coteaux de Bassenon and Côte Brune bottlings represent the appellation's two principal terroirs, each expressing distinct character through the same varietal. Beyond Côte-Rôtie, Guy Bernard also makes Condrieu, the white wine counterpart of the northern Rhône, built from Viognier. These wines have been assessed by Wine Advocate, Wine Spectator, Wine Enthusiast, and Decanter.
