Joel Taluau

Joel Taluau works in Touraine, the heart of the Middle Loire, where Cabernet Franc thrives in cool-climate conditions. The region's slate and clay soils yield wines of structure and mineral precision—hallmarks of Loire red winemaking. The winery's Cuvée du Domaine Bourgueil and St Nicolas de Bourgueil both draw from Cabernet Franc, the grape that defines this corner of the valley. Both wines have been assessed by Wine Spectator and Decanter. The Cuvée du Domaine Bourgueil, the higher-rated of the two, shows the depth and complexity that serious Cabernet Franc can achieve in Bourgueil's terroir. St Nicolas de Bourgueil, from the appellation's eastern sector, offers a complementary expression of the same varietal. Together, these releases reflect the winery's focus on the classic red wines of Touraine.
