Lake's Folly

Lake's Folly produces wines from the Hunter Valley in New South Wales, Australia's oldest and most established wine region. The winery's portfolio centers on three flagship expressions: Folly Red, a Cabernet Sauvignon; Hill Block Shiraz, made from the region's signature Syrah; and Hill Block Chardonnay. Each has been assessed by major international critics including Wine Advocate, Wine Enthusiast, Decanter, Wine Spectator, and Falstaff. The Hunter Valley's cool maritime climate and slate-rich soils shape wines of structure and aging potential. Cabernet Sauvignon thrives in the region's conditions, developing the dark fruit and tannin architecture evident in Folly Red. Hill Block Shiraz captures the peppery intensity and mid-palate weight characteristic of Hunter Valley examples. Chardonnay, too, benefits from the valley's moderate temperatures, yielding wines with mineral definition and complexity. Lake's Folly's focus on these three core varieties reflects a deliberate approach to the region's terroir.
