Loxarel works with the native grapes of Penedès, a region in Catalunya known for its Mediterranean climate and limestone soils. The winery focuses on Xarel-lo, a local white variety prized for its mineral structure and aromatic complexity, often paired with Pinot Noir in sparkling and still wines. A Pèl Clàssic Penedès Brut Nature Rosé, a blend of Pinot Noir and Xarel-lo, demonstrates the region's capacity for refined sparkling wines. The winery also produces MM, another Xarel-lo and Pinot Noir expression, and Xarel-lo Fermentat Em Àmfores, a still wine made from the estate's signature grape fermented in amphora vessels. These wines have been assessed by Decanter, Wine Advocate, Wine Enthusiast, and Wine Spectator.
