Macchialupa

Macchialupa works with the native grapes of Campania, the volcanic region in southern Italy where Mediterranean warmth meets mineral-rich soils. The winery's portfolio centers on three classical expressions: Aglianico Campania, a dark-skinned variety with structure and depth; Fiano di Avellino, a white of aromatic complexity and aging potential; and Greco di Tufo, another regional white known for its crisp acidity and minerality. These varieties have anchored Campanian winemaking for centuries, and Macchialupa's versions have been assessed by Wine Enthusiast. The region's volcanic terroir—particularly around Avellino and Tufo—imparts distinctive character to both reds and whites, making Campania a source of distinctive Italian wine beyond the better-known regions to the north.
