Muxagat produces wines from the Douro, Portugal's most celebrated red wine region. The winery's portfolio centers on the indigenous varieties that define the area: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, and Souzao—grapes bred for the Douro's steep schist slopes and continental climate. The Douro Tinto blends these three varieties into a wine that has drawn attention from Wine Spectator, Wine Enthusiast, and Wine Advocate. The Douro Cisne Tinto, built on Touriga Nacional alone, offers a more singular expression of the variety's dark fruit and structure. Muxagat also produces Mux Branco, a white wine that rounds out the range. The Douro remains one of the world's most distinctive terroirs—ancient, unforgiving, and capable of producing wines of considerable depth and aging potential.
