Outward

Outward produces wines from Ballard Canyon, a region known for its warm days and cooling maritime influence. The winery's portfolio centers on distinctive varietals: Chardonnay from the Bassi Vineyard, Gamay from Presqu'ile Vineyard, and a Pétillant Naturel Pinot Gris. These wines have been assessed by Wine Enthusiast, Wine Advocate, Wine Spectator, Falstaff, and Decanter. The Bassi Vineyard Chardonnay shows the richness and complexity typical of the region's white wines, while the Presqu'ile Vineyard Gamay captures the bright, mineral character Gamay can achieve in cooler microclimates. The Pétillant Naturel Pinot Gris offers a lighter, effervescent expression of the variety. Ballard Canyon's elevation and diurnal temperature swings create conditions suited to both classic and experimental winemaking approaches.
