Ronco del Gelso

Ronco del Gelso works the limestone and marl soils of Friuli Isonzo, in the northeastern corner of Italy where Alpine influence meets Mediterranean warmth. The winery focuses on white varieties native to the region and beyond. Toc Bas, a Friulano, achieves depth and minerality from the terroir's mineral-rich composition. Siet Vignis Chardonnay and Sot Lis Rivis, a Pinot Grigio, demonstrate the winery's command of both indigenous and international grapes, each capturing the precision and aromatic clarity that define Friuli's whites. The region's cool nights and well-drained soils encourage acidity and complexity—qualities evident across the portfolio. Wine Spectator, Wine Advocate, Wine Enthusiast, Falstaff, and Decanter have all assessed the winery's output.
