Weingut Kopp

Weingut Kopp works the Rheingau, Germany's most prestigious Riesling region, yet distinguishes itself through a notable focus on Spätburgunder—the country's signature Pinot Noir. The winery's Spätburgunder Weissherbst, a dry rosé expression of the variety, demonstrates the precision typical of Rheingau viticulture. Its Hattenheimer Schützenhaus vineyard yields both a Spätburgunder Ein Casanova Trocken and a Selection Riesling Trocken, both dry expressions that reflect the region's cool-climate character and mineral tension. Falstaff has assessed the portfolio. The house balances the region's classical white-wine heritage with a red-wine ambition that remains uncommon in this corner of the Rhine.
