Roquette & Cazes

Roquette & Cazes produces wines from the Douro, the steep-terraced river valley of northern Portugal where schist soils and continental climate shape some of the world's most structured reds. The winery works with the region's classic varieties: Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, and Touriga Nacional—grapes bred for power and aging potential. Their flagship Xisto Douro, a blend of these three, has drawn attention from Wine Advocate, Wine Enthusiast, and Wine Spectator. The Douro bottling, similarly composed, offers a second expression of the same varietal foundation. Both wines reflect the Douro's reputation for dark fruit intensity and firm tannin structure, qualities that emerge from the region's demanding terrain and the careful selection of traditional Portuguese grapes.
